A Comprehensive Study on Grace

Grace is an unmerited favour and its enabling power meted to a man by God. As common as the teachings on grace abound in our churches, many believers are yet to understand how grace is provided by God in scriptures, how to receive them, walk in them, perform in its enabling environment and finally, stay within the middle without abusing them.

The most common meaning of God's grace is "an unmerited favour". We understand this from the point of mankind receiving forgiveness and redemption from a loving God. Unfortunately, we often by ignorance and pride fail to recognize that grace still provide us the ability to live in the love demonstrated by God.

Paul who received special grace from his encounter with Christ during his journey to Damascus and is seemed to draw the attention of the Christians in Ephesus to this cardinal truth in the following scriptures.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. -  Eph 2:8-9 NKJV"

" just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.  Eph 1:4-6 - NKJV"

God has provided salvation to us in His demonstration of love through His own beloved son Jesus. It was not only that we believed and were forgiven, having justified us, He continuously, sustain our walk with Him into perfect transformation. I call this procedure also, the enabling power of God through grace for a believers thorough transformation.

"Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, 17 comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.  2 Thess 2:16-17 - NKJV"
The scripture in above proves, our commitment towards the Word (truth) and evident  living in good works are from the comfort of grace. We know that, our belief into salvation means new creation (2 Cor 5:17), transformation is processes which pass through time. When the spirit of man accept the love of God provided in grace by faith, the soul and the body are still going to require the same unmerited favour to be established in love.
