Charles K. Akonnor edging towards Asante Kotoko Deal

CK Akunnor in interview

The Asante Kotoko Football Club lose its team coach early this month. Mr Paa Kwesi Fabin resigned on suspicion of being sacked by the arguably biggest traditional club in Ghana. Since his resignation, there have being plenty news in the local media about the replacement of Paa Kwesi Fabin.

One whose feet seem to wear the boot is the Former AshantiGold coach Charles K. Akunnor. Information gathered this morning report that the former Black Star Captain has penned a deal with Asante Kotoko as a new head coach.

However, there are other reports which suggest the club is yet to agree on a deal. Spokesman of the Club Samuel Duku, has addressed this rumours in the local media. He vehemently denialed the reports that Kotoko has contracted  C. K. Akonnor as their new head coach. He is quoted to have spoken on Asempa FM in Accra.

“We are in talks with coaches but we haven't settled on anyone yet," Duku told Happy FM.

"Hence, the reports of we signing a two-year contract with CK Akonnor are not true.

“In due time, the team will come out with the name of the coach to manage Kotoko after we all agree on the terms and conditions.

“We need a firm coach that everyone will have confidence in him.”

C.K. Akonnor is a celebrated Ghanaian Footballer whose career at club levels and national is very enviable. He opted into coaching and has been rated among the best coaches in the country.
