Backup || Alternate facilities of programs, data files, hardware equipments, etc., that are used in case the original one is destroyed, lost, or fails to operate.

Backup Files || These are the files which are generated automatically in Word and other word processing programs when you save a document. These files help in protecting the document due to malfunctioning of the computer or power failure.

Backup link || Physical redundant connections between network devices.

Bastion Host || A system that has been hardened to resist attack, and which is installed on a network in such a way that it is expeckcl to potentially come under attack. Bastion hosts are often compomnts of firewalls, or may be "outside" Web servers or public access systems. Generally, a bastion host runs some from of general purpose operating system (for example, UNK, VMS, NT, etc.) rather than a ROM-based or firmware 0 §.,system.

Bounced Mail || An e-mail message that is returned to the sender after it fails to search for the intended recipient.
