Biography of Apostle Benjamin K Arthur

Apostle Benjamin K. Arthur was a former International Missions Director (IMD) of THE CHURCH OF PENTECOST.

Apostle Benjamin K. Arthur was born on October 8, 1937, to Mr. Benjamin Kodwo Arthur and Mrs. Janet Esi Dede Arthur, both of blessed memory. He was the eldest of eleven children.
He had his primary education at the Aboso Methodist School between 1945 and 1952 and continued with his secondary education at the Tarkwa Technical Institute. He later took a course at the Kumasi Technical Institute (now Kumasi Technical University) and passed out with a City & Guilds Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery in 1959.

He was called into the full-time ministry of The Church of Pentecost in 1968 and served for 30 years. His ministry took him to Wa, Bolgatanga, Winneba, Suhum, Agormanya and Kumasi. He also served as a missionary in Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso.

In 1996, Apostle Arthur was called to serve at the Head Office as International Missions Director. He served in this capacity till he retired from active ministry in 2001.

Apostle Benjamin K. Arthur was a gallant soldier of the cross through whom the Lord accomplished many feats for The Church of Pentecost. He would be fondly remembered as a mentor, role model, a great preacher and a passionate soul winner. Perhaps, he would be most remembered as the 2nd IMD in the history of the Church and for introducing “Holy Ghost Convention” into The Church of Pentecost.

Apostle Arthur has indeed fought the good fight and finished the race.  He has served his Maker in his generation and deserves to rest from his fruitful labour as he awaits his heavenly reward. (2 Timothy 4:7-8).

Apostle Benjamin K. Arthur, 81, was called to glory on Monday October 22, 2018 at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. He was survived by the wife, Mrs. Hannah Arthur, and five children.
On behalf of the entire membership of The Church of Pentecost, we extend our profound condolences to the bereaved family, especially his wife and children, for their loss.
May his soul rest peacefully in the bosom of his Maker.
