GUIDE FOR LEADING SUNDAY SERVICE

1. Opening Prayer

  •  Powerful, focussed and short
  • Don't Wait for people

2. Salutation (Gathering, Entrance)

  •  Bring a song
  • Making them feel at home; welcomed
  •  Inviting them to participate
  •  Be brief, and direct
  •  Be positive.

3. Choruses or Songs

  •  Bring out first one
  • Be in tune with Whatever is going on
  •  Don't let them just sing and sing
  •  You can get other things done
  •  A song can be taught at this time

4. Testimonies

  •  Pay attention
  •  Pray for those who need it
  •  Correct when you realise someone has a wrong mindset on an issue
  •  Encourage people who need encouragement

5. Worship

  •  Don't just nominate any member to lead
  •  Use gifted people
  •  The role of songs in worship is important

6. Word ministration

  •  Very important
  •  Read the Word
  •  Choice of songs must be in sync with the theme of the message
  •  Use practical examples
  •  Capture the main points of the sermon
  •  Be part of the message
  •  Demand response

7. Prayer after the Word

  •  Song
  •  Meditation
  •  Invitation to act on the message: personal and church; consider thrust of the message.
  •  Write down some of the main points of the message.

8. Offering

  •  Be brief and follow church policy, it will help us
  •  Appeals must not be done always, it loses it weight

9. Announcement

  • Be brief, if you intend to make it, don't let the secretary do it, and then repeat, save time.
  • Give the very important ones.
